OKCDGA hosted a multitude of events this year, and the community really showed a lot of support for what we are trying to do! Listed below is all the events we ran this year. We are super excited to what our next season will bring!
This year we hosted the Ice Bowl at Arcadia on the Red and Blue course. Over two days we ran an event for Singles and Doubles. Over 260 players played this year, which we hope to make 300 players for the '24 Ice bowl! We were able to donate just over $1,600 to Jacobs Cupboard in Yukon, OK. We hope to do even better next year!
Membership Jam is one of the events we like to start off our season with a bang! This year everyone that came out to play recieved a T-Shirt, Mini disc with the OKCDGA Logo on it, a Member ID card that got you discounts around the city, as well as a discount card to D-Mart Pro Shop (5025 N. Meridian & 1254 N. Interstate Dr). This year we had 115 players play the event and become members of OKCDGA. We hope to add more discounts towards the '24 membership as well.
This is one of the premier events that OKCDGA has ran for 15 years now and will continue to run for years to come. This year we had 105 players play this event over the course of 2 days and 3 rounds played. This event had a great players pack for all players that enjoyed this event, including an awesome hoodie! Next years event we hope to make it even better!
This was the first year we ran Scissortail Open. Going forward, this event will become our flagship event for Oklahoma City. We included 3 rounds over the course of 2 days on 4 different courses. The inspiration for this event is in part due to the state bird being the Scissortail Flycatcher. Us at OKCDGA wanted to create an event for the community that represented what we enjoy best, the nature Oklahoma has to offer. 126 players played this event this year and hoping to bring even more for the 2024 event.
This year was the 32nd Okie Dubs, and over 230 players played this year on a long, 2-day 4 round event. This year we played Best Shot, Worst Shot, Modified Alternate Shot, and Best Score. The competition this year was top notch from people all over the state and surrounding states to play one of Oklahoma's longest continually running events. This is the staple of what OKCDGA is all about. The community always comes together to make this event one of the events we remember for years to come. Whether it was your first one, or it was 20th one, it will always be Okie Dubs.
The LLT mini that happened on Thursday evenings all year was one that made that course possible. Trosper is our newest course in the metro and is a work in progress, but without this mini, it wouldn't have been possible! We were able to fund all the development at the course through this mini throughout the year. On average it was able to 20-25 players each Thursday night. We are looking forward to running more minis in the '24 season!
