About Us

The history

Began in 2010...

The Oklahoma Disc Golf Association has gone through many iterations through the years, but in 2010, a few guys that lived in Oklahoma City wanted to bring the prestige back to the city of being the disc golf club that this city wanted and needed.

These guys brought their love and passion to the game, and it showed in how they ran events. Not only just with events, but with how they worked alongside the city to bring the courses to the metro. Between updating Will Rogers, to expanding Dolese Youth Park, they elevate the game of disc golf in Oklahoma City that hadn't been seen before. Clearing fairways, fundraising for new baskets, and everything in between, they put their passion to work.

Our very own Jason Schwake and Cameron Kaspereit were the previous presidents that were able to elevate us to the level we are at today. In September of 2022, Jason would step down as president after building up a staff within OKCDGA. He knew he left the club in good hands as he implemented a culture that was to always improve on what you have done before.

At this point, we needed members to step up, and none other than Jon Finder accepted the role.  At this point, we knew we needed to decide on what route we needed to move forward and our first order of business, to make OKCDGA a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. By mid 2023, OKCDGA was accredited, and we have become more involved with the community.

Our future plans with OKCDGA are to bring the best events we know how to towards this community. Have a place for experienced players as well as beginners to have events to play in our community. We have continued to have the passion that was instilled in the club in the beginning and will continue to do so going forward.
